Ask Real Estate and Premier Inn owner Whitbread have unveiled fresh plans for a 41-storey resi tower at Manchester’s First Street.
Proposals for One Medlock Street would see 370 flats and a smaller 13-storey building of almost 400,000 sq ft of flexible office space from Jon Matthews Architects.
The scheme will be the latest phase in Ask’s First Street regeneration and the first to include residential development. Previous plans for build-to-rent were dropped by Downing Development in favour of a huge co-living scheme of 2,224 bedrooms.
The site is currently home to the Premier Inn Manchester City Centre (Deansgate Locks) hotel. A new Premier Inn hotel is set to open to at nearby Princes Street this year.
Ask and Whitbread have launched a public consultation and appointed Turley to advise on planning.
