The average asking price for a home in England and Wales fell by 0.9% in the period from 12 June to 9 July, to £307,824, figures from Rightmove showed.
Asking prices are typically more conservative in summer – the average fall for July over the last six years is 0.4%, Miles Shipside, director at Rightmove, said. The fall this time is marginally larger, as political turbulence has a record of unsettling sentiment.
Price falls ranged from 2.1% in Yorkshire and the Humber to 0.2% in the east Midlands.
