A joint venture between Ask Real Estate and Patrizia has prelet the Gateshead Quays arena to ASM Global.
Ask Patrizia has signed the facilities management and venues services company for a 40-year lease on the new £260m arena.
The 12,500 capacity arena will hold music and cultural events and is expected to open by 2023.
The arena is part of a wider 10-acre scheme which will see more than 67,000 sq ft of conference and exhibition space built, along with more than 30,000 sq ft of flexible meeting space, hotels space, bars, restaurants, car parking and public realm space.
A full planning application for the wider scheme will be submitted in early 2020.
