Associated British Ports markets Southampton development sites
Associated British Ports has appointed agents to market development sites at the Port of Southampton, part of plans to free up 1,000 acres for logistics and renewable energy schemes.
The company has tasked Colliers and Lambert Smith Hampton to bring to market 30 acres of land at the port, designating them for some 700,000 sq ft of manufacturing or logistics development.
The land spans the 22-acre Redbridge site (pictured) – which has freeport status – and eight acres at Marchwood Industrial Park.

Ian Henderson, ABP’s head of property for Southampton, said: “These strategic sites are capable of attracting a range of businesses to Southampton and creating new jobs.”
Len Rosso, Colliers’ head of industrial and logistics, said: “We see these sites as being of particular interest to logistics operators and also to manufacturers that are either bringing their raw materials into the UK by sea or exporting their finished products by the same routes.”
Dan Rawlings of Lambert Smith Hampton said the site is likely to be able to accommodate 700,000 sq ft of development “and boast the scale and connectivity which are highly sought after in today’s market”.
