Assura appoints interim chief exec

Primary care investor Assura bought 41 medical centres for £81m in the first half of its financial year.

It has also appointed an interim chief executive, Jonathan Murphy, currently finance director, and appointed property director Andrew Darke to its board.

Former chief executive Graham Roberts died in July after stepping down to fight cancer.

The news was reported  in a trading update today for the first half of the year to 30 September 2016.

Assura said the centres had a passing rent roll of £4.9m with a weighted average unexpired lease length of 13.5 years. It also completed two developments valued at £13.8m and a passing rent roll of £0.7m.

Assura now owns 363 medical centres with a rent of £70m.

It also has a pipeline in solicitors’ hands of acquisitions and developments it values at £114m.
