Astec restructuring leads to West Midlands deals

Computer hardware firm Astec Europe has restructured its West Midlands operations. The company has taken three units near Dudley and sold its Stourbridge headquarters.

Astec plans to moving its operations into three units totalling 4,645 sq m (50,000 sq ft) near Dudley. Two of these amounting to 3,065.7 sq m (33,000 q ft) are located at Hurst Business Park, Brierley Hill, where the company is paying an average rent of £39.28 per sq m (£3.65 per sq ft) on two five-year leases. The computer firm is also negotiating to lease 1,579.3 sq m (17,000 sq ft) at Waterfront Business Park, Dudley.

In a separate deal US-based Sunrise Medical has bought Astec’s 34,373 sq m (370,000 sq ft) headquarters in High Street, Wollaston, Stourbridge for an undisclosed sum.

DTZ Debenham Thorpe is advising Astec. Sellers advised the landlords at Hurst Business Park.
