Astellas acquires EA Games site

Astellas Pharma has completed the purchase of Electronic Arts’ 99,000 sq ft headquarters in Chertsey, Surrey.

In addition to the 2000 Hillswood Drive building, Japanese pharmaceutical firm Astrellas has also acquired an adjacent site which has planning consent for 100,000 sq ft of offices.

Astellas moves from smaller premises in and around Staines. EA put the portfolio up for sale in November 2007. No value for the deal was revealed, but it is thought to be around £17m.

Knight Frank represented Astellas, and DTZ acted for EA. Knight Frank believes the deal is one of the biggest in the M25 offices market this year.
