Aster takes top honours at PMAs

Aster Group was the standout winner at this year’s Property Marketing Awards.

The housing association’s Gladder shared-ownership initiative won best brand campaign plus best creative element for an emotionally charged video. Aster also won the night’s ultimate prize, the 2019 Grand Prix.

London residential developer Mount Anvil picked up the property marketing team of the year trophy, while creative agency Luminous made a clean sweep in the best annual report category.

Organised by the Chartered Surveyors’ Company and judged by an independent panel of marketing professionals, the PMAs celebrate the best property marketing talent from around the UK.

They also raise money for charity and the main recipient of proceeds from this year’s event will be brain injury charity the Children’s Trust.

Triton rides to the rescue of Drops cycle team

Triton Construction has helped the Drops cycle team to take part in the 2019 Women’s Tour of Britain.

Triton stepped in as joint support sponsor, alongside Every Can Counts, Cannondale Bikes and Le Col, after the team was let down by two of its main sponsors at the end of 2018.

Team Drops was the youngest competing team, as well as the only GB team in the field.

The team comprised of world and Olympic track champion Elanor Barker, GB riders Anna Christian and Lizzie Holden, GB national squad track riders Ellie Dickinson and Megan Barker, and Abby Mae Parkinson.

Up against some of the best riders in the world, Drops’ lead riders Abby Mae Parkinson and Ellie Dickinson, finished 28th and 29th overall.


MMX steps out for charity

MMX Retail has raised nearly £19,000 for the Brain Tumour Charity with a 26-mile walk across London.

The trek takes the total raised in the past 18 months to more than £40,000.

MMX Retail teamed up with the Brain Tumour Charity after Alex Hobbs, son of partner David Hobbs, was diagnosed with a tumour in 2017.

They are raising money for the PNET5 clinical trial, a new treatment that Alex has gone through as the first participant in the UK.


Lawyer goes on the run for veterans

Property lawyer Richard Flenley from Charles Russell Speechlys has run 53 miles for charity in the Race to the King ultra marathon.

He completed the run across the South Downs in just under 16.5 hours and raised more than £5,000 for armed forces charity Blesma, which helps limbless veterans to lead independent lives.


250 take on Colliers’ Bristol TRYathlon

Property professionals from across the South West have raised £4,500 for the Malcolm Gunter Foundation in Colliers International’s TRYathlon.

The foundation was set up in memory of Malcolm Gunter, a Bristol property professional who died in 2018 after suffering from motor neurone disease.

Nearly 250 competitors took part in the event at Tockington Manor School in Bristol. The fastest male under 40 and overall winner was Oliver Kolodseike from Colliers; the fastest female under 40 was Jo Crofts from Knight Frank.


C&W partner cycles Bordeaux to Bilbao

Cushman & Wakefield partner Sam Orwin and Long Crendon Cycle Club have raised more than £21,900 for Great Ormond Street Hospital, St David’s Hospice Care and MS Society UK by cycling from Bordeaux to Bilbao.

Over the past three years the group has raised more than £75,000 for charity as they circumnavigate Europe by bike.
