Astrazeneca promises to pay ex-workers’ £12m redundancy

Astrazeneca has set aside up to £12 million for former employees amid mounting criticism about the sale and collapse of its Avlon pharmaceutical manufacturing site near Bristol.

The FTSE 100 drugs company said the fund, to be administered independently, would ensure staff “receive full severance should the administration of the site not generate enough funds to cover redundancy costs”.
