Five auctions bring £20m for auctioneer
Clive Emson raised £20m from 143 lots with a success rate of 82% at its five sales last week. A site with views over Dover town and Dover castle sold for £300,000 off a guide of £300,000 to £350,000, and a timber-framed holiday property on stilts at North Fambridge, Essex, accessible on foot only when the River Crouch is at low tide, sold for £41,000. The auctions were held at Chelmsford, Maidstone, Brighton, Saltash in Cornwall and Southampton.
Cottage with land sells for £360,000
An unmodernised detached three-bedroom cottage on
a 2.3-acre site in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire, sold for £360,000 at Butters John Bee’s sale on 12 June. The sale, which was held in Stoke-on-Trent, raised £3.2m, with a success rate of 53%, with 36 of 69 lots selling.
Derelict property sells below guide
A derelict eight-bedroom period house situated on a private lane in the upmarket Mayals area of Swansea sold for £615,000 from a guide price of £650,000 at Dawson’s auction on 14 June. The three-floor property
with sea views is located on a 0.7-acre site near Clyne golf course. Dawson’s raised £2.1m from 18 lots offered, with a success rate of 95%, from the sale, which was held in Swansea.
IAM Sold raises £3.2m in latest sale
IAM Sold achieved a success rate of 72%, raising £3.2m from its sale in Nottingham, with 30 of 42 lots selling. A bungalow with five bedrooms and a garage sold for £200,000 in the 14 June sale.
