Repossessed lot total to jump
The number of repossessed properties at auction will rise by 20% in the fourth quarter, Swindells Auctioneers has forecast, reflecting the seasonal trend of vendors trying to sell assets that failed to attract a buyer on the open market earlier in the year. Between 1 July and 18 September, a total of 366 repossessed lots were sold, raising £60.7m.
Symonds & Sampson hits 92%
Symonds & Sampson achieved a 92% success rate at its 26 September residential-led auction. Out of 25 lots offered, 23 sold, raising £4.6m. The sale took place at Digby Hall in Sherborne, Dorset.
?Galway sales raise £2.3m
County Galway-based DNG Maxwell Heaslip & Leonard enjoyed a 100% success rate at its 26 September auction. All 11 mostly residential lots were sold, raising £2.3m. The sale took place at the Radisson Blu hotel in the county.
Big bucks in Brighton
A residential property on Sussex Square in Brighton sold for £1.7m, reflecting a yield of 3.9%, at the Parsons Son & Basley sale on 26 September at Hove Town Hall. In total £2m was raised, with seven out of 11 lots sold.
Norwich auction hits £2.7m
Brown & Co raised £2.7m at its 30 September sale at the Assembly House in Norwich. It sold 16 lots out of 25 offered – a success rate of 64%.
Romans sale raises £5m
Romans has sold 19 out of 22 lots offered at its 30 September auction, reflecting a 87% success rate. A total of £5m was raised at the sale. which took place at the Blue Mountain golf club and conference centre in Bracknell, Berkshire.
