Auction House London nets £9.9m

Auction House London raised nearly £9.9m at its sale on 2 June, with a success rate of 61%.

Of 106 lots offered, 64 were sold: 46 in the room and 15 prior to auction.

AHL director and auctioneer Andrew Binstock said: “It was a great turn-out, despite the economic circumstances. Despite a lower sale rate than normal, we had some exceptional results throughout the day.”

Binstock highlighted the sale of a semi-detached property in Wanstead, E11, for £662,000 off a guide price of £375,000. The building is split into two self-contained flats producing an annual rental income of £26,400 with a yield of almost 4%.

An unmodernised semi-detached house in Winchester, Hampshire, with a guide of £95,000, sold for £178,000. The sale was held at the London Marriott Hotel, NW3.
