Big result for Countrywide
Countrywide Property Auctions’ latest sale at Le Meridien Piccadilly hotel, W1, on 4 November raised £5.1m, with a 64% success rate. The result represents a £2.4m increase on that achieved at its previous auction in September.
Clive Emson pours up pub treat
A 700-year-old pub near Canterbury, Kent, smashed its guide price by £200,000, fetching £450,000 – a gross yield of 5.6% – at Clive Emson’s Kent sale on 2 November. Overall, 159 lots offered across five venues by Clive Emson this month have raised £20m, with an 80% success rate.
Harman Healy success rate dips
The 56% success rate at Harman Healy’s 4 November sale at Kensington Town Hall, W8, was its lowest to date. The auction house raised £1.2m from its smallest ever catalogue.
Banquet for buyers at Loveitts
Loveitts will offer a 13,000 sq ft building in Coventry, Warwickshire, with an income of £144,000 pa from shops and a banqueting suite at its sale on 19 November. It is guided at £1.2m to £1.4m. Among the other 29 lots is a former bakery, also in Coventry, with a £110,000 guide and consent for conversion to three flats. The sale will take place at Village Urban Resort, Coventry.
Cut and dry at Graham Penny
Two hairdressing salons feature in Graham Penny’s catalogue for its 18 November auction at Leicester City Football Club. A total of 25 lots are set to go under the hammer – twice as many as in its October sale.
