McHugh & Co raises £8.2m

McHugh & Co sold 73% of the 40 lots offered at its 6 July sale at the Montcalm hotel, W1. It raised £8.2m from the 29 sold lots, of which 27 went to bidders in the room.

Lot sale that makes the news

A former print works in Teddington, Middlesex, is being offered by Athawes Son & Co at the auction house’s next sale on 26 July at the Grand Connaught Rooms, WC2. Guided at £1m plus, the property includes a 12-room building and a courtyard.

Harman Healy sale nets £865k

Harman Healy raised £865,550 at its latest sale at Kensington Town Hall, W8, on 7 July. Out of 18 lots offered, 10 were sold – a 56% success rate.

Seven-bed Barrow pad for sale

Auction House Cumbria is offering a seven-bedroom house with a sauna, indoor pool, jacuzzi and gym for over £245,000. The Barrow-in-Furness property is due to come under the hammer on 21 July at Coronation Hall, Ulverston.

Great Yarmouth bank on offer

A 12,637 sq ft former Barclays in the centre of Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, is being offered by Auction House East Anglia, guided at £195,000. It is due to be sold on behalf of receivers on 21 July at Dunstan Hall Hotel, Norwich.

Mid-year Auction House report

The Auction House group has reported a mid-year sales total of £208.6m, up from £179.4m in 2015. The 77.2% success rate, based on 1,959 lots offered so far, is down from last year’s 76%.
