Guides doubled at SDL sale
A four-bedroom end-of-terrace house in Ladywood sold for £126,000 off a £50,000 guide at SDL Bigwood’s sale at Aston Villa Football Club in Birmingham, which raised £8.8m from 104 lots offered, a success rate of 79%.
Prep school makes the grade
A preparatory school in Faringdon, Oxfordshire, that sold for £675,000, was among the lots at Lambert Smith Hampton’s sale held at the Le Meridien Piccadilly, W1. The auction raised £6m from 24 of 28 lots offered, a success rate of 86% .
Savills offers medical centre
Savills’ regional sale at Nottingham Racecourse on 15 December will feature a former medical centre guided at £225,000-£250,000 among the 27 lots offered.
Prior sales for Countrywide
Half of the 52 lots offered at Countrywide Property Auctions’ sale at Le Meridien Piccadilly, W1, sold prior to auction. The sale raised £9.9m from 40 lots sold, a success rate of 77%. A 17-floor block of flats in Coventry was among the lots sold prior to auction for an undisclosed amount.
US firm offers UK apartments
US-based auction house Concierge Auctions will offer seven prime central London apartments at its 20 December sale in New York. It is the first time the firm has put a UK lot up for sale. The most valuable of the apartments is in Cheyne Gardens, SW3, near the new US Embassy. It is estimated to sell for £2.65m to £3.5m.
