Bamboo Auctions hits the web
A new website, Bamboo Auctions, offers property from the South West to a national and global audience via an online bidding platform that allows buyers and sellers to exchange online immediately after bidding has closed.
The catalogue focuses on Bristol and Bath.
Prices start at £140,000, offering up to 6% yields.
Paul Fosh raises £2.5m
Welsh auctioneer Paul Fosh raised £2.5m at its most recent sale in Cardiff.
Of the 51 lots offered, 38 sold – a 75% success rate. A three-storey former restaurant in Newport, Gwent, that is partly vacant and generates £12,000 a year sold for £240,000 – a 5% yield.
The auction took place on 14 May at The Park Inn hotel, Cardiff.
£5.1m result for Countrywide
Countrywide auctions raised £5.1m at its recent sale, a 67% success rate.
Out of 45 lots offered, 30 sold, reflecting a 67% success rate.
The top lot was a freehold detached six-bedroom bungalow in Brighton, East Sussex, that sold for £365,000.
The auction took place at Le Méridien Piccadilly, W1, on 12 May.
Eddisons sells 87%
Eddisons sold 87% of the lots offered at its latest London sale, raising £2.2m.
Highlights included a former restaurant in Sparkhill, Birmingham, that sold for £350,000 off a guide of £175,000-£200,000.
The sale took place at Le Méridien Piccadilly, W1, on 14 May.
Strong start for Lansdowne
Lansdowne Property Auctions raised £3.3m at its second sale.
The firm sold 11 out of 13 lots – an 85% success rate.
An investment in Muswell Hill, N10, arranged as a ground-floor shop generating £21,600 pa, and three flats above, sold to a private individual for £1m – a 1.94% yield.
The sale took place at the Connaught, W1, on 30 April.
