Emson raises £13m at February sale
Clive Emson sold more than £13m of property at its February auction, achieving a success rate of 80% from 118 lots. A 200-year-old barn in Ash, Canterbury, with planning approval for conversion into a three-bedroom house, sold for £168,000 off a guide price of £125,000-£130,000 on the first day of the sale in Maidstone on 6 February.
Strettons sale makes £8.5m
Strettons’ 9 February residential sale raised £8.5m, with 23 out of 37 lots finding a buyer – a success rate of 63%. A terraced house converted into three self-contained flats in Highbury, N5, with an annual rental yield of £37,000 and guided at £1.2m-£1.3m, sold for nearly £1.4m at the auction at the Grand Connaught Rooms, WC2.
Success for Barnard Marcus
Barnard Marcus raised £18.6m at its 6 February auction, with a success rate of 70%. Of 149 lots offered, 104 were sold –91 in the room and 12 prior. A property in Kensington, W8, with a shop on the ground floor and three flats above with planning approval for another flat, sold for £3.5m off a guide of £3.5m-£3.75m.
Bungalow fetches high price
A freehold bungalow lot in Ashford, Middlesex, with a guide price of £825,000 and planning approval for a three-floor block of six two-bedroom flats, is on offer at Phillip Arnold’s sale on 24 February at the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel, W5.
