Austin Reed to refurbish flagship Regent Street store

Austin Reed has unveiled plans for the £12.3m redevelopment of its flagship store in London’s Regent Street.

Around 13,000 sq ft (1,208 sq m) of offices will be added to the building, which will start generating rental income from the summer of 2003.

The store will remain open throughout construction work, which starts in the summer and is due to end by the autumn of 2003.

The Grade II-listed building dates back to October 1926 when it was built for Austin Reed as London’s first department store to be created specifically for men.
