AustralianSuper beefs up international teams

AustralianSuper has made a string of new hires as the fund continues to expand its global investment team in London and New York.

Head of equities Innes McKeand has relocated to the fund’s London office and will continue his role managing and developing the fund’s $100bn equities portfolio. He will also play a “key role” in establishing the company’s New York office and the overall growth of its international operations.

He will join international head of investments Damian Moloney as the second member of the investments leadership team to be located in London.

As a result of McKeand moving to the London office, Justin Pascoe has been appointed as deputy head of equities and will oversee the day-to-day leadership of the team in Australia.

Paul Clark has also been appointed as property senior investment director in London, and will be responsible for real estate investment activities in the UK and Europe. Clark was previously chief investment officer at the Crown Estate.

Philippe Lenoble has also joined the London team as infrastructure senior investment director. He was formerly managing director of Goldman Sachs’ infrastructure investment group.

Mikaël Limpalaër has also joined the London team as investment director focused on real estate and infrastructure debt. He joins from Aeriance where he was real estate lending director.

McKeand said: “Growing our offices in London and New York is a great opportunity for AustralianSuper to access some of the best talent internationally and to continue to develop a globally elite investment team across some of the world’s most important capital markets.”
