The average house price in the UK is set to rise by 4.4% this year, the smallest increase since 2013, according to forecasts by the Centre for Economics and Business Research.
It attributes the slower growth to pay rises that have fallen behind inflation, economic uncertainty and higher costs, such as stamp duty.
The 4.4% increase will take the average price to £220,000. The CEBR is forecasting a rise to £272,000 by 2021.
