Avison Young has recruited three new people to its global finance team and promoted two others as it continues with its expansion plans.
This includes the appointment of Steve Cresswell as its new European director of finance and operations, who most recently was EMEA chief financial officer and chief operating officer of JLL’S office fit-out business.
Cresswell will lead on the overall financial management and operations of the company’s growing European business, help to expand its current operations in Germany and Poland, and identify investment growth targets elsewhere on the continent.
Avison Young has also brought in Robert Dunlop as its new global treasurer, and Ashwini Sawhney as its director of strategy.
Dunlop will be responsible for overseeing and directing Avison Young’s global treasury function, including capital structure and strategy, banking relationships, cash management, hedging and debt compliance. Most recently Dunlop was vice president and group treasurer at INEOS Styrolution Group GmbH in Frankfurt, Germany.
Meanwhile, Sawhney will implement key strategic initiatives surrounding M&A activity, recruitment and the development of new services and geographies, and liaise with senior company staff on investments.
In addition, Avison Young has promoted Tom Morande to chief financial officer for North America. He will also serve as a strategic business partner to the US, Canada and Mexico leadership teams and managing directors, and be responsible for providing leadership on long-term and short-term strategic planning and growth, profitability, financial planning and analysis for these markets.
Morande’s previous role as chief accounting officer is to be filled by Ricardo Jenkins, who has been promoted from his position as global controller at Avison Young.
Jenkins will be responsible for all aspects of reporting on financial and operational performance against both the annual budget and the company’s long-term strategy, while also overseeing financial planning and analysis.
Morande, Jenkins, Dunlop and Sawhney will be based in Avison Young’s Chicago office, and Cresswell will be based in London.
Mark E. Rose, chair and chief executive of Avison Young, said: “These strategic promotions and hires will bolster the team as we continue to deploy a tremendous amount of capital and expand our global footprint through more recruitment, mergers, acquisitions and new-office openings.
“These promotions and hires reflect the increasing momentum of our expansion programme. They also demonstrate top professionals’ desire to experience our collaborative culture and client-centric business model. We look forward to announcing further exciting hires, promotions and acquisitions in the near future.”
