Jamie Olley is to depart Savills for Avison Young, where he will join the central London investment team at the beginning of November as a principal.
Olley joined Savills in 2016 as director of central London international investment from Deloitte Real Estate when Savills hired its Deloitte’s entire City acquisitions team, which he headed up.
Prior to the four years he spent at Deloitte, Olley was a national partner at Strutt & Parker and a partner at King Sturge for more than six years.
Olley has advised on many notable transactions, including the £700m-plus sale of the Gherkin to Safra Group, the circa £300m sale of 33 King William Street to Wells Fargo by HB Reavis, and the £100m-plus leasehold acquisition by Guy’s & St Thomas’ Charity strategic for Becket House in Waterloo.
Chris Gore, principal and head of city transactions, London markets, at Avison Young, said: “Jamie is a well-known and popular presence in the central London market, with a great depth of experience and enviable client base, including UK funds and international buyers, which will perfectly complement and enhance our central London offering at Avison Young.
“Despite Brexit, London firmly remains a resilient global financial city and a designated growth area for our business. Jamie’s appointment strengthens our ability to service our clients in this global financial centre.”
Jason Sibthorpe, principal and president of the UK at Avison Young, added: “We continue to grow the business, attracting the best talent that can respond to the ever-changing dynamic of our industry and our corresponding client needs.”
Stephen Down, executive head of central London investment at Savills, said: “Jamie has been a valued member of our central London investment team and we wish him all the very best for the future.”
This latest addition to AY follows the hiring of Dan Kent and Rob Fraser, former directors at Savills retail team, in June, and the bolstering of its transactional team in Scotland in August following its £200m acquisition of GVA at the end of last year.
