Avison Young hires three in Scotland

Avison Young has made three hires for its transactional team in Scotland, including a duo from Montagu Evans.

Douglas Wood and Ben Farrell, both previously with Montagu Evans, will form the Glasgow arm of Avison Young’s investment function. Wood joins as a director, while Farrell will be an associate.

The pair have worked on deals including the sale of the Sauchiehall Building in Glasgow on behalf of KKR and Quadrant Estates for £55m, and the acquisition of the Point Retail & Trade Park in Glasgow on behalf of Kames Capital for £14.1m.

The firm has also hired Pete Harding from Cushman & Wakefield as an associate. He will advise on industrial and retail when he returns to the business, in October.

Stuart Agnew, principal and managing director of the Edinburgh team and head of investment in Scotland, said: “Through the strategic growth of our investment team, Avison Young continues to be expertly placed to advise in what has been a resilient market, despite the potential impact of Brexit.”
