Avison Young has appointed Dominic Amey (pictured) as managing director of its London markets team, where he will lead the growth of the team and its operation across the capital.
In his new role, Amey will focus on expanding the business across brand presence, revenue and staff. He will also work on cross-selling with other UK business groups and international strands of the business.
Amey, who has been in the industry for 25 years, joined the firm in 2021 as a principal, helping to grow Avison Young’s central London investment business.
Before that, he was a director of City of London capital markets at Colliers, where he worked for 18 years advising a range of clients on the disposal and acquisition of commercial property. During this time, he led the West End investment team from 2012, then set up and helped run the City investment team in 2018.
As part of its wider growth strategy the firm will be targeting new hires to enhance existing London teams, including investment, leasing, occupier advisory and flexible workspace.
Amey said the move ushers a “new period of growth” for the team as it looks “to expand our book of work across the capital”. He said: “The team’s success will be driven by the unique collective expertise of our people, and we are actively looking for the best talent to join our team as we establish Avison Young as the challenger brand in London.”
Nick Walkley, principal and UK president at Avison Young, said: “Dominic’s leadership of the London markets team will be a key driver of our mission to establish Avison Young as the go-to, client-centric real estate advisor in London. Dominic’s approach combines experience, refreshingly straight-talking advice and a passion for delivering exceptional service to clients, which aligns perfectly with our values as a challenger brand in this major marketplace.”
As part of a greater restructure spanning the UK business, other new appointments have been made in the London markets team. Stuart Commins will lead the London occupier advisory team; Martin Devine will head the flex advisory team; James Walker will spearhead the London office leasing team; and Martin Woods will serve as head of lease advisory.
