Avison Young has poached a trio of senior agents from Capita Real Estate to oversee its South East team.
Piers Leigh, Chris Barrs and Tom Bridgman will all become principals at the firm, focusing on agency and investment in the Greater London area.
They join the company from Capita Real Estate, where Leigh and Barrs were directors and ran the office agency team, while Bridgman served as a divisional director of investment.
Canadian agency Avison Young entered the UK market in April 2014 when it acquired London-based firm Haywards and opened offices in the West End and Thames Valley.
Leigh joined JLL from Capita in 2014 and has 16 years of commercial property experience.
Barrs also joined Capita from JLL in 2014, while Bridgman joined Capita last year from Gerald Eve.
Avison Young, which claims to be the fastest-growing commercial real estate services firm in the world, bought niche industrial agency North Rae Sanders. Last year, it bought London agency Jorden Salata.
Nick Cook, Avison Young’s principal and managing director of the firm’s London offices, said: “Having known Chris, Tom and Piers for a number of years, I have developed a great deal of respect for the way that they do business. They will be tremendous assets in helping us expand our office investment and agency business-line coverage in the UK.”
