Aviva Investors appoints new origination manager

Aviva Investors has appointed Michael Maddox as its new origination manager within its real estate long income team.

Based in London, Maddox will focus on sourcing and originating investment opportunities across institutional mandates and report to real estate origination director Mark Wells.

He joins Aviva Investors from Knight Frank Investment Management, where he spent five years.

Most recently he was assistant fund manager on the KFIM Long Income Property Unit Trust, where his responsibilities included origination, sourcing and transaction management of investments.

Prior to joining KFIM Maddox worked for BNP Paribas Real Estate.

Renos Booth, head of real estate long income at Aviva Investors, said: “With institutional client demand continuing to grow for real estate assets that provide secure, long-term and inflation-protected cashflows, we are further strengthening our origination capability to meet this need. Michael has the skills and experience we are looking for and we are delighted to welcome him to the team.”

Aviva Investors’ long income team has over £4bn of assets under management and targets investments on leases with inflation-linked or fixed-rental uplifts and lease terms of at least 15 years.
