Aviva Investors has named Mark Versey, chief investments officer of its £47bn real assets division, as its new chief executive.
Versey takes the post immediately, reporting to Amanda Blanc, Aviva Group chief executive. He replaces Euan Munro, who is stepping down after seven years in the role. A successor for Versey’s real assets role is yet to be named.
Versey joined Aviva Investors in 2014 and most recently led the real assets business, covering the company’s deals across infrastructure, real estate and private debt markets.
Earlier in his career he was chief investment officer at Friends Life Group and Axa UK.
Versey said his “overriding priority” as Aviva Investors’ chief executive will be “to provide our customers with strong and consistent investment performance to deliver the outcomes they are looking for, including meeting net zero emission targets through sustainable investments”.
Blanc said: “Mark is the leader that Aviva Investors needs to take it forward. Aviva Investors is a core part of Aviva, and its investment capabilities are critical to our ambition to be the UK’s leading insurer.”
