Aviva Investors has lodged a pre-planning application to the City of London Corporation for the redevelopment of 130 Fenchurch Street, EC3, into a 33-storey office tower.
The existing building, also known as Fountain House, will be demolished, and rebuilt to provide a mix of office, retail and cultural uses.
An environmental impact assessment report says the new building will have 29-33 storeys and between 400,000 and 500,005 sq ft of total floor space.
Aviva expects to submit a full planning application late this year or in the first half of 2025, with construction completing in 2030.
