Aviva’s Womack to step down

Aviva Investors is searching for a new global chief executive for real estate to take over from Ian Womack.

The investment manager said it would consider internal and external candidates in the hunt to replace Womack, who will remain at the firm until a successor has been appointed. The Aviva boss has been at the company for more than 30 years and had been a member of its executive committee since 2003.

He plans to move to “a role or roles that allow me more flexibility to combine new challenges with more time with my family”.

Aviva Investors manages £23.5bn of real estate globally. Here in the UK it is in the process of rolling Aviva Commercial Finance into Aviva Investors, which also puts real estate debt under Womack’s management.
