AXA completes third Bevis Marks deal

AXA Real Estate Investment Managers has completed the third letting at 6 Bevis Marks , EC3, confirming its letting to Browne Jacobson.

The law firm has signed a new 15-year lease for the top two floors of the 160,000 sq ft office and retail building, which has been developed as part of a joint venture with BlackRock.

Browne Jacobson will relocate its London head office to the block, joining tenants Trireme Insurance Group, the parent company of insurance brokers Oxford, and James Hamden International, formerly known as US Risk (UK).

No terms of the deal were disclosed but it is understood the letting has set a new rental high for the building with rents of £75 per sq ft for the 15th floor, which has its own roof terrace, and £65 per sq ft for the 13th floor.

AXA added that several other occupiers are also under offer at the building and further lettings are expected to complete shortly.

Harry Badham, UK head of development at AXA Real Estate, said: “The current activity at 6 Bevis Marks shows the diversity of occupiers that are being attracted to the building, driven by the unique amenities that the building offers.

“This letting to Browne Jacobson is another example of successfully attracting high-quality occupiers to our London development pipeline and creating value for our investors.”

JLL and Deloitte Real Estate are joint letting agents on the building; Colliers International advised Browne Jacobsen.
