AXA raises €730m for infrastructure fund

AXA_THUMB.jpegAXA Investment Managers – Real Assets has raised €730m (£618m) at the close of its first co-mingled European-wide infrastructure debt fund.

Infrastructure Finance SCS-SIF – European Infra Senior 1 will target senior secured debt investment in the infrastructure (transport, telecom, social) and energy (including renewables) sectors with a preference for brownfield assets.

The fund will co-invest alongside existing mandates managed by the infrastructure finance team of AXA IM – Real Assets.

The fund size is capped at €1.5bn.

AXA IM – Real Assets has so far invested €3.1bn in infrastructure debt, across more than 35 transactions.

The current portfolio is includes investment in France (25%), the UK (24%), the Nordics (17%) and Germany (11%).

Isabelle Scemama, head of funds group at AXA IM – Real Assets, said: “The launch of European Infra Senior 1 with an initial €730m of capital raised underlines the increasing appetite among institutional investors for access to a diversified portfolio of tier-one quality infrastructure loans”.
