AXA Investment Managers – Real Assets has bought a 1.5-acre development site in Bristol city centre.
The site overlooks Bristol’s Floating Harbour and is within Bristol Temple Quarter, a regeneration project aimed at improving cycling and foot traffic.
The site has the capacity to deliver 240,000 sq ft of office space and has consent for offices spread across two buildings.
AXA IM – Real Assets is also considering other ways to maximise the scheme’s connectivity and local environment.
Harry Badham, UK head of development, real assets, said: “We believe this is one of the best undeveloped opportunities in the heart of Bristol and we are looking forward to working with the council to deliver a forward-thinking scheme for the city.
“Bristol has seen strong recent employment growth particularly with various employers choosing to expand their presence in Bristol in the TMT sector. We expect this to continue, and this supports our aim of creating the next generation of office space for the city.”
