Axel Logistics has acquired a logistics warehouse on Birmingham’s BSA Industrial Estate for £7.1m from the Canal & River Trust.
The 78,500 sq ft unit at 198 Golden Hillock Road was built in the 1980s and has undergone significant improvement, including a new roof, the addition of 1,400 PV panels and EV charging bays. It boasts an EPC A rating and occupies just over a third of a 5-acre site.
The premises is let to MacDermid Performance Solutions UK. The US-headquartered manufacturer of surface coatings has approximately eight years remaining on its lease.
Mark Rooke, a director in MK2’s investment team, said: “We received strong interest and multiple offers for this property, in particular from investors seeking urban logistics assets. Given the site’s location, just two miles from Birmingham city centre, and the strong covenant of the incumbent tenant, it was a cracking opportunity.”
Axel Logistics was advised by CBRE; the charity was advised by MK2 Real Estate.
