AY life sciences boss moves to CBRE

CBRE has hired Jonathan Lowe from Avison Young to head its science and technology operations for the North.

The newly-created role is expected to strengthen CBRE’s offer for occupiers, operators and investors in the sector.

Lowe has been with Avison Young for 17 years, most recently as life sciences lead, advising developers, investors, occupiers and universities across multiple asset classes, including offices, industrial and EV.

Additionally, he has public sector experience, having been seconded to central government departments the Ministry of Justice and Department for Education.

In his new role, Lowe will work across CBRE’s Northern region, providing specialism to align with the science and technology sectors.

While further developing the offering to existing clients, which include Bruntwood Sci-Tech and GMPF, Lowe will be charged with developing the occupational base and advising life science and technology companies.

John Ogden, managing director of CBRE’s Northern region, said: “All three of the cities where we have our northern offices – Leeds, Liverpool and Manchester – are hot spots for science and tech.

“The science and technology sector is gaining huge momentum, and we are aligning our business with the growth sectors to ensure that we continue to lead the way in the North and UK.”
