B’ham hospital PPP scheme swells Beatty order book

Balfour Beatty’s order book will rise at the beginning of next month when it secures part of a £559m Birmingham hospital PPP concession, a joint venture lasting 35 years.

The company is also involved in a consortium with Amec and Jacobs in bidding to be a delivery partner to the Olympic Delivery Authority.

The engineering and construction group confirmed at its annual meeting that it had an £8bn order book and it expected more to come from the hospital contract. It said trading was in line with expectations. The shares closed up 1.25p at 371.75p.
