Heathrow airport was reduced to chaos yesterday as British Airways struggled to deal with the aftermath of an unofficial strike by its check-in and sales staff.
Crowds of long-haul passengers were kept outside the Terminal 4 building on the concourse and in the car parks in an effort to maintain order in the queues inside at the check-in desks.
The airline was forced to cancel more than 500 flights affecting nearly 100,000 passengers from Friday to Sunday.
