BAA McArthur Glen has joined forces with Italian conglomerate Fingen S.p.a. to launch Europe’s largest designer outlet centre.
Italy’s first designer outlet centre will comprise 35,860 sq m (386,006 sq ft) of gross lettable space, providing 180 retail units at Serravalle Scrivia in the middle of a triangle bordered by Milan, Genoa and Turin. The first phase is scheduled to open in summer 200, which will include 72 retail units, a children’s play area and a food court. When complete, the scheme is estimated to be worth L200bn (£70m).
The Great Western Designer Outlet Village in Swindon is Europe’s next largest outlet with a GLA of 16,255 sq m (174,973 sq ft), only half the size of the new centre.
