BAA stands firm on Gatwick price ambitions

BAA has cautioned it will not sell Gatwick airport unless the price is right.

The UK’s largest airports operator said it remained in talks with several potential bidders.

However, it was not reliant on the sale to repay £1bn of debt due next spring.

Interested bidders have been reluctant to meet BAA’s target price for the airport because of the deterioration in Gatwick’s traffic performance.
