Bank of America Merrill Lynch is reviewing its London office location with a requirement of circa 500,000 sq ft.
The US banking giant currently occupies the 585,000 sq ft office complex at 2 King Edward Street, EC1, on a lease expiring in 2022.
The building was purpose-built for the bank less than 20 years ago.
Norges Bank Investment Management bought the block from Singapore sovereign wealth fund GIC for £582.5m in 2014.
The bank has significantly consolidated its London offices in recent years.
In 2013, BAML closed a 60,000 sq ft data centre in Croydon at Galaxy House, 41 Cherry Orchard Road and last year the bank quit Canary Wharf, where it occupied around 300,000 sq ft at 5 Canada Square, E14.
BAML’s website lists its further London offices as at 5 Paternoster Square, Warwick Court, EC4, and 26 Elmfield Road, Bromley.
CBRE advises BAML.
