Birmingham City Council and Homes England have selected Barberry as the preferred buyer for a 2.38-acre site at the Advanced Manufacturing Hub in Aston, Birmingham.
Barberry will develop a 57,000 sq ft manufacturing and design facility called Barberry 57, at plot 5 on the site.
It is the West Midlands-based developer’s second scheme on the site, after it completed a 65,000 sq ft unit last year for occupier Mayflex.
Barberry has lodged a planning application and is aiming to start construction before the end of the year, with practical completion in Q3 2021.
Birmingham City Council leader Ian Ward said: “This is a huge vote of confidence in Birmingham’s economic recovery, and means jobs and investment at a time when they are sorely needed.”
