Barberry wins consent for £30m retail scheme near West Bromwich, West Midlands

The Black Country Development Corporation has granted full planning consent for a £30m retail scheme at Great Bridge, West Bromwich, West Midlands.

Barberry Properties proposes 11,148 sq m (120,000 sq ft) of food and non-food retail along with a petrol filling station on the 12-acre former steel works site. The development will link up with Great Bridge High Street. The developer expects to be on site shortly with completion due by the end of next year.

Jon Bellfield, Director of Barberry House Properties, said: “The scheme, which will have a value of about £30m upon completion, is the first major retail development to have been proposed for the area in many years.”
