The Barclay brothers have been victorious in their battle to reform Sark’s constitution as the Queen gave royal assent to fundamental reform yesterday.
The brothers have led the fight for feudalism to be scrapped. They have been buying up land and hotels and some traditionalists fear they are turning the island into a holiday resort for the rich.
The Barclays believe the new system will make it easier for them.
