Barclays has confirmed the appointment of Sharon Quinlan as head of structured property within the London-based debt finance team.
Quinlan joins Barclays from Bank of Ireland where she was head of business banking, responsible for running the UK commercial banking franchise.
Prior to joining Bank of Ireland, Quinlan spent more than 15 years at Barclays working across UK origination for real estate finance at Barclays Capital and property finance within the corporate banking team.
In her new role, she will be responsible for supporting the bank’s real estate clients with their debt finance needs, and expanding the quality and size of the London commercial property lending portfolio.
Quinlan takes over the role from Richard Payne, who has been at Barclays for more than 38 years, and who will continue to work part-time within the structured property debt finance team as a consultant.
Dennis Watson, managing director at Barclays, said: “Sharon’s experience and knowledge within the real estate sector makes her an ideal candidate to take over the leadership of our structured property finance team in London. Her appointment further cements our commitment to supporting the real estate sector with well-structured finance packages for sector-leading sponsors.”
