Countryside has received planning consent for a 170-home estate regeneration scheme in Barking and Dagenham, east London.
Becontree Heath covers three parcels of land on Wood Lane and will include a replacement bus terminus and retail space for a local pharmacy, subject to a section 106 agreement being finalised.
With GLA support, Countryside submitted plans for 124 private homes and 46 shared-ownership flats.
John East, strategic director of growth and homes at Barking and Dagenham Council, said: “This development forms an important part of the council’s wider strategic ambitions for Heath Ward, with the landmark Becontree Heath Leisure Centre delivered in 2011 and the Coventry University campus at Dagenham Civic Centre opening to students this September.”
