Developers in London need to collaborate with the public sector and focus on quality, according to London’s most in-demand local authority leader.
“We don’t want cheap and nasty,” Barking and Dagenham council leader Darren Rodwell told EG.
Rodwell is seen by investors and developers as a leader who best lives up to the mayor’s open-for-business mantra.
“It’s important for the private sector to understand where London is going,” he said. “Today’s regeneration is tomorrow’s heritage.”
Rodwell also talks about the shock waves sent by the housing white paper and how he hopes to persuade all of the 32 London boroughs to take representation at MIPIM.
