Barratt Developments chairman and chief executive Frank Eaton, 52, has died in a head-on car crash on the A69, near Hexham, Northumberland.
David Pretty, managing director, will take over as temporary chief executive. The board will meet tomorrow to discuss succession.
Eaton, nicknamed “Frank the Bank” because of his reliability, was widely respected on a personal level as well as for his ability to deliver what he promised.
