Housebuilder Barratt has bought the Northbrook School site in Beacon Lane, north of Exeter city centre, for residential development. A price approaching £1.5m is believed to have been paid for the 4.2ha (10.5 acre) site.
Alder King acted for the vendors, the school’s trustees, and partner Ralph Collison said there was strong competition for the site. The sale eventually went to best bids.
Barratt plans to redevelop the site with two, three and four bedroom houses. The scheme will be called Chantry Fields.
