Barratt Developments has bought a slice of land in Cambridge from Trumpington Meadows Land Company, a joint venture between Grosvenor Britain & Ireland and Universities Superannuation Scheme.
The housebuilder has exchanged on the sale of the remaining 40 acres of consented land at Trumpington Meadows, in south west Cambridge, to Barratt Eastern Counties for £50m.
Barratt will provide 1,200 new homes on the site in a phased development programme over the next five years.
The Trumpington Meadows team continues to be involved with its remaining holdings including its 140-acre country park and 150 acres of arable land.
