Barratt finance boss to step down

The chief financial officer of Barratt Developments has made what she described as a difficult decision to step down from the role.

Jessica White will leave the board at the end of June and depart the business a month later, the company said in a stock exchange announcement, citing personal reasons.

The search for White’s replacement is underway.

White has been working within the group for 15 years, having joined the finance team at construction company Wilson Bowden in 2005, two years before the business was sold to Barratt.

After that deal she became Barratt’s head of financial accounting, then group financial controller before being named CFO in 2017. Chairman John Allan described her as “an integral member of our leadership team”.

“It was not an easy decision to step down after 15 years with Barratt and Wilson Bowden, but it is the right thing for me at this time,” White said. “I am proud of the role that I have played in both driving Barratt towards its medium-term targets and embedding strength and resilience through the operating framework.”
