Barratt is set to kick off the transformation of the former Bell Green Gasworks site in Lewisham, SE6, after securing planning approval earlier this week.
The proposals for six buildings were submitted to Lewisham Council in November last year. The scheme comprises a total of 262 homes, ranging from studios to three-bedroom flats, 30% of which will be classified as affordable.
The plans also include 8,405 sq ft of flexible retail and office space, public realm, living roof, amenity space, cycle and car parking.
The wider area around the former Bell Green Gasworks site has been redeveloped to form the Bell Green Retail Park, including large supermarkets such as Aldi and Sainsbury’s.
